Residential treatment can last from 30-90 days, with adolescents being gradually reintegrated into home environments through home passes and extended visitations which are complimented with weekend family therapy. Caron features onsite education, where patients receive assignments from their home school and teaching staff helps them to catch up and maintain academic status. Cumberland Heights Adolescent
Located on a 177 acre farm, this residential treatment facility for adolescents ages 13-18 provides an idyllic setting for recovery. Length of treatment is minimum of 30 days, and includes counseling, detoxification, education, Twelve Step participation, spiritual counseling, a family program, ropes course, equine therapy and therapeutic recreation. After completing residential treatment, patients are refered to a weekly aftercare meetings for a one year period, which is followed with a year of contact with aftercare representatives. Cottonwood de Tucson
The "Girls Only" treatment center at Cottonwood de Tucson provides a place for young women to gain insight into their issues without the posturing that role playing between the sexes creates. The atmosphere allows for girls to develop relationships with other girls their own age, something many have not done, and allows them to create a support system while realizing that they are not alone. Treatment includes medical management, a Twelve Step program, group therapy, nutritional counseling, and individualized small specialty groups. There is also a 5 day intensive for family members. In Balance Ranch Academy
Modeled after an Old West town, In Balance provides treatment for adolescent boys ages 13-17. Their regimen includes traditional therapy and Twelve Step model, academic education, relapse prevention classes, bi-weekly family therapy, experiential-adventure therapy, equine assisted therapy and riding programs, leadership and motivational therapy, exercise and nutrition, and community service coupled with chores and personal responsibilities. Minimum length of stay is 12-14 months, and can last for as long as 18 months. Near Tombstone, Arizona.

Timberline Knolls
An innovative and purposefully built residential treatment center that serves the needs of adolescent girls and adult women, in separate programs. Set on 43 beautiful acres just outside of Chicago, Timberline Knolls offers a safe and serene environment for those who desire to make real life changes.

The Timberline Knolls approach is an individualized, strength-focused program that combines evidence-based clinical services, a state approved academy, and expressive therapies tailored to those struggling to overcome eating disorders, chemical/alcohol abuse, self harming behaviors, mood disorders/co-occurring disorders.

Led by a nationally-known team of psychiatrists and psychologists, their multi-disciplinary clinical team excels in the treatment of complex co-occurring diagnoses.

Visions
A co-ed residential facility treating adolescents ages 12-17, Visions incorporates goal groups, Twelve Step studies, psycho-education groups, stress management groups, anger management groups and art therapy into their treatment. Education is also vital, with patients attending school three hours a day, five days a week. Family therapy is mandatory, with a Saturday program as well as individual sessions scheduled at convenient times. The average length of stay is three months. Malibu, California.

Wilderness Treatment
Affordable 60 day program for males 14-24, Wilderness Treatment begins with the inpatient program, followed by a 16-21 wilderness expedition. Challenging activities such as backpacking, cross country skiing, rapelling, and ranch work provide for increased self-esteem and empowerment.
