young adults

These are centers for consideration that approach the particular difficulties for people just entering adulthood with a compulsive behavior problem.

Four Circle Recovery Center
This is an innovative addictions, substance abuse and co-occurring mental health disorders treatment program for young adults ages 18 - 28 that combines a traditional counseling setting with extensive wilderness experiences. Four Circles employs the most effective, cutting-edge clinical modalities with an underlying traditional 12 step philosophy to create the foundation for sustained recovery. They are a part of Aspen Education Group, the nation's leading provider of therapeutic and educational programs for youth and young adults. Blue Ridge Mountains, Horse Shoe, North Carolina.

Cottonwood de Tucson
An intensive, goal-oriented program for young adults ages 18-23. Treatment is based on a four-to-six week intensive program combining medical management, twelve-step concepts, family involvement, group therapy and small, individualized specialty groups. Features a challenge course, martial arts, and rock and rope climbing . Also features a Girls Only Center so that young women can gain insight into their issues without the posturing that role playing between the sexes creates. The Girls Only Center also teaches young women about the benefits of building relationships with other young women, which tends to be something that chemically dependent females struggle with. Tucson, Arizona.

Sober College
A residential program that creates a supportive, sober environment for young adults to recover from chemical dependency and related issues.

They consider young adults ages 17-26 in need of a supportive, sober environment supplemented by substance abuse treatment. Sober College accepts both male and female applicants who require drug rehab, alcohol rehab, and addiction treatment. Their substance abuse treatment curriculum builds competencies in Sobriety, Life Skills, Physical Fitness, Academics, and Job Readiness.

Sober College requires an initial commitment of three months, with options to stay on for as long as 12 months based on individual needs. Every participant is put on a structured schedule for their first 30 days. During that time, they further assess motivation, time management capabilities and ability to manage sobriety and healthy living. If needed, clinical, psychiatric and therapeutic support is available.
